Curriculum Vitae
Maria Evelina Fantacci was born in Livorno, Italy on December 24, 1966.
In the School Year 1984-1985 she obtained the diploma at the High School "Lyceum Gymnasium Niccolini-Guerrazzi" of Livorno, in the Academic Year 1990-91 she obtained the degree in Physics at the University of Pisa and in the Academic Year 1993-1994 she obtained the Degree of Specialization in Health Physics at the University of Pisa.
In 1992 and in 1995 she enjoined research contracts at CERN (European Center for Nuclear Research, Geneva, Switzerland). In 1992 she won a biennial fellowship by the University of Pisa and in 1995 she won a biennial fellowship by the National Institute of Nuclear Physics. From July 1st 1997 to now she is staff researcher at Department of Physics "Enrico Fermi", University of Pisa.
The research activities of M.E.F. are documented by the production of 92 publications in journals with IF and 57 publications on Proceedings of International Conferences. About these research activities she was supervisor of 18 theses (5 of 4 the old years Degree in Physics, 1 of the old 5 years Degree in Engineering, 2 of Degree in Physics, 2 of Specialistic Degree in Physical Sciences, 2 of Specialistic Degree in Applied Physics, 2 of Magistral Degree in Physics, 2 of Specialization in Health Physics and a 2 of Doctorate in Applied Physics).
She also held the following roles in national and international research projects:
" Leader of the scientific research topic "Detectors in GaAs and Bump Bonding techniques" and member of the Project Management Board of the project "Integrated Mammographic Imaging" funded in the framework of the law "legge46/art.10" for technology transfer to industry (13 October 2000 - 13 June 2004).
" Local leader of the Pisa research group of the INFN (Istituto Nazionale di Fisica Nucleare) funded GPCALMA (Grid Platform for Computer Assisted Library in MAmmography) experiment (years 2001-2003).
" Local leader of the Pisa research group of the international project MammoGrid, funded by the European Community under the Fifth Framework Program (Information Technology Program societes IST-2001-37614), and member of its Project Coordination Committee and Technical Steering Committee (1 September 2002 " 31 August 2005).
" Local leader of the Pisa research group of the INFN (Istituto Nazionale di Fisica Nucleare) funded MAGIC-5 (Medical Applications in Infrastructure for Grid Connection) and M5L experiments (1 January 2004 " 31 December 2012) and, currently, of the related dissemination of results and technology transfer of products activities.

Research Interests
The scientific work of Maria Evelina Fantacci took place in the major research topics:
Study and development of new semiconductor detectors.
Medical Applications (digital radiography and mammography, autoradiography, nuclear medicine) and not (switch for High Energy Physics experiments) of semiconductor detectors.
Development, implementation, performance evaluation and comparative testing of a prototype for digital mammography acquisitions.
Development and testing of a of a Computer Aided Detection system for mammographic images.
Development and testing of a of a Computer Aided Detection system for low dose and high resolution CT scans and its implementation as web service based on cloud computing.
Development of algorithms for automatic analysis of Magnetic Resonance images of musculoskeletal system and acquisition of Magnetic Resonance images of musculoskeletal system at Ultra High Field.
